Badia Ahad will serve as Emory’s next provost and executive vice president for academic affairs effective Nov. 1, 2025, Interim President Leah Ward Sears announced on Oct. 15. Ahad, current dean of Oxford College of Emory University and the William R. Kenan, Jr. Professor of English, will be the institution’s chief academic officer, overseeing all academic programs and accelerating Emory’s progress as an eminent research university.
